Chibi Dragonair Figurine by TheHarley Chibi Dragonair Figurine by TheHarley
Sculpey clay & Acrylic paint ^.^

This took me forever... mostly because I wanted it to be as smooth as possible o____o ...then also painting the lines cleanly... that tends to take me the most time. I'm pretty happy with how she came out. I used a purple metallic paint for the eyes (which I love) and probably spent more time on the eyes than anything else :XD:

As one of my favorite Pokemon, I had to make Dragonair...she's just so... cute ^.^ ...perhaps a chibi, smooth style, Umbreon next? heh. I have so many Umbreon things ;)

THIS is fantastic. I almost didn't believe this was done in Sculpey, it's so smooth. And the eyes are beatuiful. You did a great job painting them.

Thank you so much! It took me quite a while to get it that smooth ^^; lots of water to smooth out fingerprints. It's especially difficult since I have two dachshunds with these stubborn little black hairs that always get in and on everything!

Smooth indeed! :)

I just wished the blue wasn't as bright. Maybe slightly more saturated with purple. Sometimes Ken Sugimori had it more of a lighter blue:

I believe that's from the LF/FR set though.

I love its wings. <3

Good work!

The blue is this bright because of the camera that I used... it's hard to capture the actual colors of a sculpture when you photograph it. It isn't really that bright in person, I'm still working on my photography skills ^^;

I made the color to match the sprite from HG/SS =)

Thanks ^^

She's adorable!! The eyes are wonderful, it must have taken you forever to get both of them to match...I wish I had that kind of patience :XD: And if you wanted smooth, you definitely got it! Did you sand it?

Thank you!
It did in fact take forever to get them to match >.>...what actually took the most patience was making sure she was as smooth as possible. I didn't sand it actually, I smoothed everything out drastically as I went...before baking =D
What really helped was the fact that I have poor circulation (I've spent a lot of time thinking about this lol). I know you must be scratching your head like "wtf" but it makes sense, allow me to explain. Warm clay molds easier, but also allows fingerprints to mold into the clay easier. I have cold hands (due to poor circulation), so the clay wasn't very warm when I was shaping it. Instead, I used a bit of water to help elongate the clay (after I rolled it into a cylinder, for both the body and wing thingies) and very slowly stretched the not-so-warm clay. It cracks very, very, easily when it's like this. So the process is much slower. To be completely honest, this was more of an experiment than anything!
