Completely crocheted down to the button closure. The main part & strap are made from a soft yarn called "Cuddles" which is safe for babies and children. The cutie mark is crocheted with embroidery floss.
Approximately 5 in wide and 4in tall with a 20in long strap (that stretches a bit when you add weight aka putting things into the purse). It can hold a cell phone and wallet ^^, I tested this with my Droid X and a basic chain wallet. I typically use this size purse for a night out when I don't want to lug around something big. It's also the size I make for my little toddler sister.
It's so cute. it's adorable. that was redundant and I don't care. I can knit but not crochet, and after knitting a 60-foot-doctor-who-scarf-that-was-only-supposed-to-be-20-but-oops-i-have-a-wider-knit-for-a-small-knit-pattern, I almost never want to knit again... And if one made these knitted, I'd have to line it with another fabric, I expect...
I can't get past how cute this is. I should really, really see about getting one. My purse is about this size and boooring and blaaaack and I only got it because I forgot mine when I went on a field trip last year...
How many different perfectly precious pony purses are you planning to make? I saw in your etsy you have Pinkie and AJ.
Woah. 60 feet of knitting? That's fantastic. I can imagine I'd do something like that (just because following patterns has always been relatively difficult for me- I get distracted and repeat rows, sometimes I feel as though the pattern needs more stitches somewhere or something >_>...it just doesn't go well). That's why I make my own patterns now XD. Linings do make things look prettier. In my experience, knitting has always been "looser" than crocheting, so a lining would probably be necessary. I was thinking about lining the ones I do, they do fine without the lining, I have one that I've been using since August and it still looks like this.
^^ Thank you hehe. You sound like me. I've done that before. That's how I got all of these boring purses *gestures toward a pile a purses in a rubbermaid container*.
Oh I'm planning on making all of the ponies. O_____O ALL OF THEM. It might take me a while though . I have a Twilight Sparkle one currently in progress as well as a Rarity one. Who's your favorite?
I have a lot of favourite ponies xD Doctor Whooves, Big Mac, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Queen Chrysalis, Luna, and Celestia mostly. Rarity and Pinkie Pie crack me up more often than anything, because melodrama Rarity is hilarious. Add her and Twilight Sparkle in Lesson Zero and you have a good idea of what one of my friends is like. I'm more Pinkie Pie and Twilight, I think. Except instead of being all-knowing about magic, I am an all-knowing Harry Potter geek (were I a pony, my cutie mark would be a dust jacket-less copy of the first book). What about you? Which is best pony in your eyes?
Following the pattern wasn't hard, I get really obsessive over it, constantly counting my knits, only adding two to one segment. It just ended up being ridiculously long because wide knit+small knit pattern=massive scarf. But I cheat and use a loom >.>
The purses aren't boring, they're awesome!! And adorable. So. Adorable. I'll ask my friend if I can have one for Christmas xD Soon, Alicia too, will join the herd. My family thinks I'm nuts. Granted, I have a bunch of the brushable figurines. Ten of them. The mane cast and four others (Cupcake, Blossomforth, Lulu Luck, and Dewdrop Dazzle) I think my 18 year old brother is watching Sesame Street... Try as I may, I can't get Pinkie Pie's mane to even remotely resemble how it is in the show. Sigh. And I'm running out of unique hairstyles for the non-show toys. I can't help it that this show is made of awesome.
All my yarn is packed up right now because I'm about to move. :3
Unpacking yarn.
Going to crochet some this weekend :3
>.> hopefully I have enough money on my paypal for that.
